Let’s talk about Espadrilles, they are the it-shoes of the summer! Did you know that they were born in France in the Basque Country? The espadrilles are a classic with an heritage of 4,000 years. Every time I hear espadrilles, it just reminds me the South of France, since the sun is always shinning. People were it all the time for it’s comfort.
The classic espadrilles have cotton fabric or canvas upper and a flexible sole made of rope. The rope is the signature characteristic of the espadrilles. They travelled around the world and they have evolved throughout the years. Their styles vary from flat to wedges. Its rustic look turned into a fashion accessory that people rock from downtown to the country side, or the backyard to the beach…
Designer reinvented it with high heels, using different textures and structures. I absolutely love these Balanciaga espadrilles for a comfy and classy look. You can pair it with a Saint Laurent leather short and an Oscar de la Renta blouse.
