Noudar began its path to success after a one off, exclusive design for Lady Gaga marking the release of her ‘Born This Way’ album in May 2011.
This venture allowed the young Award winning ‘Qatari jewellery designer – Noor Al Fardan’ to express herself creatively and to push the boundaries of fine jewellery making and producing works of wearable art.
Noor’s fascination with watches and the mechanisms behind the art of watch making has greatly influenced Noudar’s jewellery, emphasizing the importance of the craftsmanship to enable more comfort, movement and flexibility in her creations, as Noor quotes Coco Chanel when saying “Luxury must be comfortable otherwise it is not luxury”.
Noudar’s jewellery was originally produced in Valenza, Italy offering a high level of craftsmanship. Currently the production will be shifted to Qatar in order to make Noudar a purely Qatari jewellery brand, and the first of its kind.
Inspired by Islamic culture, Noudar brings into the present the intricate meanings and symbols of this civilisation that flourished from the 10th century onward. This was the time of Islamic Renaissance in the arts, architecture, science, and philosophy, which created the very foundation of the modern age.
This clever combination of traditional Islamic art & modern design has led to Noudar’s avant-garde jewellery collection. Through these inspirations Noudar has developed collections translating Arabic culture for a more western audience, modernizing the Arab concepts of jewellery and tradition into her designs.
Noudar takes the fun-loving spirit of costume jewellery to a cutting edge collection of luxury fine jewellery offering a flirtatious and edgy style her audience can have fun with and enjoy.
New Collection showcased at London Fashion Week S/S14
Noudar Jewels launched a new collection at London Fashion Week SS’14 with an exclusive collaboration for Julien Macdonald’s catwalk show last Saturday 14th September at Goldsmith Hall presenting some exclusive new designs created especially for the show.
“I’ve always been a fan of Noudar, they are one of the most inspiring jewellery brands out there.
They have managed to re-invent fine jewellery for a very modern woman.
My customers will love these pieces ad I’m wearing one myself,” says Julien Macdonald after the launch of his glamorous spring summer collection.
Taking inspiration from Moroccan tiles and tapestry the intricate detailing, in accents of black and sapphire, Madonald’s collection deceive the eye.
From afar, the considered beading and embroidery work adorning the pieces has a subtle and beautiful fluidity; in contrast closer inspection reveals hand-sewn clusters of crystals and beads forming spikes, thistle flowers and eerie motifs blending effortlessly with the latest Noudar ring collection.
Executed with tattoo like qualities, the detailing gives the collection the subtle hardness and rock-edge that is the common link between the Macdonald brand and Noudar Jewels.
Looking back to archival pieces and focusing on the brand’s DNA, Macdonald’s spring summer collection shows his explicit understanding of ‘the Macdonald woman’, strong, confident and sophisticated.
